LLC «KTIAM»
The industrial enterprise LLC «KTIAM» was created on the basis of the Design and Technological Institute of Automation and Mechanization in Automobile Engineering (KTIAM). Since the 1970s, the institute has been involved in the development and implementation of friction welding technologies. In the 70s and 80s, several series of friction welding machines were manufactured according to the drawings of LLC «KTIAM»: PSTM-1.5; PST-10; PST-25; PST-50; PST-60; PST-RSH and others, which were implemented at the following plants: JSC SKB «Turbine» Chelyabinsk, «VIAM» Moscow, JSC «KamAZ» Naberezhnye Chelny, JSC «UAZ» Ulyanovsk, JSC «UKVZ» Ust-Katav, JSC «CHTZ» Chelyabinsk, JSC «CHAMZ» Chelyabinsk, JSC «UralAZ» Miass, ErZGA Yerevan, JSC «SAAZ» Skopin, NZAS Neftekamsk and many others. Since 2012, the institute’s specialists have developed and manufactured a number of friction welding machines of a new generation with a force from 20 to 400 tons. Based on these machines, semi-automatic lines for the production of drill pipes have been created. Since 2014, the development of new products has begun - installations for hot upsetting of the ends of drill pipes and installations for calibrating and forming casing and pump-compressor pipes. Enterprises of the defense-industrial and aerospace complex are interested in friction welding machines of a new generation. Friction welding is used in the manufacture, for example, of turbine parts, fuel equipment of rocket engines and other products that require a strong connection of dissimilar alloys. In 2013-2020, LLC «KTIAM» manufactured friction welding machines for such plants as JSC «SKB «Turbine» (Chelyabinsk), JSC «Kemerovo Mechanical Plant», LLC «PKNM» (Perm), CJSC «Mountain Technologies» (Yekaterinburg), CJSC Cheboksary enterprise «Sespel», JSC PO «Strela» (Orenburg). Research and development work is being carried out with UEC enterprises to introduce friction welding technologies in the production of promising gas turbine engines.

- Installations for calibrating casing and pump-compressor pipes according to API Spec 5CT;
- Lines for the production of drill pipes according to API Spec 5DP for oil and gas wells.
