Avtomobilniy zavod URAL JSC traces its history back to November 30, 1941. Exactly, on this day, the USSR State Defense Committee decided to organize an automobile engine and foundry in Miass, Chelyabinsk Region, evacuated from the Stalin Moscow Automobile Plant (ZIS). On July 8, 1944, the first ZiS-5V truck rolled off the assembly line of the automobile plant. Avtomobilniy zavod URAL JSC is a leading manufacturer of four-wheel drive trucks in Russia. Avtomobilniy zavod URAL JSC is a full-cycle production and product support company. The company independently develops and manufactures the main components and systems of cars. To mark the 80th anniversary of the release of the first Ural automobile, one of the largest museum and exhibition centers in the Southern Urals, with a total area of almost 1,500 square meters, was opened at the Avtomobilniy zavod URAL in 2024. A new tourist point on the map of the Chelyabinsk region is located on the Predzavodskaya ploshad' of the city of Miass. The museum exhibition is dedicated to the birth of the Russian automotive industry, with an emphasis on the Miass Automobile Plant's line of trucks. The new exhibition space features rare models of the domestic automotive industry and machine tools, parts of legendary vehicles, archival documents and unique artifacts. The halls combine both the historical heritage, represented by the area of the present factory conveyor with nodes and assemblies of the war period, and the actual activities of the plant.
